Seventh Season Finale Ratings

Yesterday's revealing season finale of How I Met Your Mother tied for first in the key demos and finished third place in the overall ratings.

"The Magician's Code" was watched by 10.48 million people, up by almost 600,000 from the last episode, and scored a 5.0/8 rating in households. The show finished third in households and total viewers, ranking behind NBC's America's Got Talent and ABC's Dancing with the Stars. In the important adults 18-49 demographic, How I Met Your Mother scored a 3.7/11 rating, up by four tenths of a ratings point from the 3.3/10 rating on April 30. How I Met Your Mother tied for first place with NBC's Amercia's Got Talent in the 18-49 demo.

Compared to last year's half-hour season finale, the show was up 11% in households and added 1.43m viewers, was up 21% in adults 25-54 and 16% among adults 18-49.

Last night's episode of How I Met Your Mother finished first in the critical adults 18-49 demo, third overall in last night's ratings. CBS scored their first Monday win since NBC's The Voice premiered back in January.

"Good Crazy" was watched by 7.99 million people, up from the last original episode's audience of 7.24m. How I Met Your Mother ranked third in households and total viewers, finishing behind ABC's Dancing with the Stars and NBC's The Voice.

In the important adults 18-49 demographic, How I Met Your Mother rose to a first place finish with a 3.3/10 rating, up from 3.1/9 on April 16.

CBS Announces Season 7 Hour-Long Finale

CBS has announced the hour-long seventh season finale of How I Met Your Mother, which will air Monday, May 14. Chris Elliot (Mickey Aldrin), Becki Newton (Quinn) and Frances Conroy (Loretta) reprise their roles in the two-part season closer.

The Magician's Code - Part One — While Marshall is in Atlantic City with Barney, Lily goes into labor, leaving him desperate to make it back to New York before the baby is born. Meanwhile, Ted and Robin try to distract Lily during her painful contractions, on the first part of the one-hour seventh season finale of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, Monday, May 14 (8:00-8:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. 

The Magician's Code - Part Two — On Barney's future wedding day, when his wife is finally revealed, the gang reminisces about the time they encouraged Ted to follow his heart and go after the one that got away, on the second part of the one-hour seventh season finale of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, Monday, May 14, at a special time (8:30-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

How I Met Your Mother ranked third in total viewers and second in the 18-49 demo.
